This Saturday, I met my friend Craig Danger for tacos and record shopping in Barrio Logan. We randomly selected a place called Fish Guts to lunch at, but wound up going instead to the taco shop across the street. Fish Guts had a line going out the door to get a table, and besides, it gave off serious hipster white people taco vibes. The restaurant across the street, TODO PA' LA CRUDA, was amazing. I got a ribeye taco, a fish taco, and a Modelo; Craig got the ribeye taco and the birria taco. Delicious, authentic, and no wait.
From there, it was just a short walk over to Beatbox Records to do some diggin'. Beatbox Records is rated as the #2 Best Record Store in San Diego by Craig. I'd only been here once before many years ago, but that was before I bought a turntable and starting collecting again. This would be my first legit pull. Somehow I managed to keep it under $100. Well, the tax pushed it to about $102, but I'm still calling it a goal achieved. For a such a small store, it really has a great selection. Even the usually standard Rock/Pop section has lots of obscure artists mixed in with the big names. If I had any complaint, it would just be that they're a little on the pricey side, at least for my tastes. That didn't stop me from blowin' a hundie, tho, did it?
Without further ado- my awesome pull!

Records by Mickey Hart, Genesis, OHNO, Bhagavan Das, Pink Floyd, Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood
I was very excited to finally get a copy of Nancy & Lee, I'd been holding back for awhile. So, of course, that wound up being my first spin of the pull when I got back home. Glorious!
