Star Trek TOS, S2 E9: "Metamorphosis"

Star Trek TOS, S2 E9: "Metamorphosis"

I continue my sad little journey from the beginning to the end of the Star Trek universe timeline with Season 2, Episode 9, entitled "Metamorphosis"

The Kirk, Bones, Spock and a terminally ill but comely lady diplomat get kidnapped by a space blob and taken to a planet inhabited by famous space pioneer Zephram Cochrane and his amorphous caretaker he calls The Companion. By then end, the blob becomes the lady, she hooks up with Cochrane, everyone learns a little something about love, and the crew get to go back to the Enterprise. It was aight, I guess.

"Will you check your automatic scanner, please."

"Most unusual in view of its size"

"We're real enough."

"How would you like to go to sleep for 150 years"

"Not exactly like a pet owner speaking to a beloved animal."

(isn't a doctor a type of scientist? anyway...)

"The Judas Goat"

"Why not try a carrot instead of a stick?"

"Aye."

"It is not a zookeeper."

"The idea of male and female are universal constants, Cochrane."

"Fascinating. A totally parochial attitude."

"What kind of life is that?"

"You regard the Man only as a toy."

"We are one."

"I know that I love her"

"what about that war..." (she was on her way to stop a war)

War-stopping woman diplomats are a dime-a-dozen in the future...
